RaceChrono2AVI Ver 1.0.14 with manual
- First not beta version is out.
- Program setup in the zip.
- Many thanks to all the many friends who helped me in development of this software with beta testing and suggestions:
Antti, RaceChrono developer, beta tester and supporter
Taka, first beta tester and really enthusiast participation from the beginning and RX8 cockpit
Siklosi, for a lot of suggestion on programming techniques
Marco "Zampa", Porsche "ace" driver for his video and beta testing.
Enri996 for Performacebox data and (Performancebox compatibility is a work in progress atm)
0.3.23 beta now with two new configurable options in the track map gauge . Added "dot size" and "dot blinking enable", in order to add more visibility of the car dot on the track map. (thanks Taka)
I just found out 0.3.23 beta also allows you to save your current configuration (where all the gauges are in the programs) and reload later if required. (the RX-8 ones are not from me .... haha ;).
- Speed Smoothing - new interface for customization of digital display and gauges. - Digital displays can change foreground and background colors and can been bring to front. - Also gauges can been bring to front. - Program window got caption again and can be moved only using the caption. - A new digital display for the "best lap so far", it will show the best lap only when it will reach and will blink for 10 seconds. - Track gauge will not clear any more the original background before drawing the gps track, look at the varano track gauge for an example. - Avoiding absolute path in cfg files. - "ON AIR" icon shown when avi recording is active. - Many other changes and bugs fix that now i can't remember :P
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here I go.
I am using Racelogic exported data (Trackvision CSV files). The program works great! But for troubleshooting purposes here's what I've noticed with the CSV files I have:
1) The Gmeter digital displays are swapped. That is, lateral G's digital display is at the bottom of the vertical axis, and horizontal G's digital displayed is at the left. The "moving dot" is placed correctly, it's just the actual digital representation that is misplaced.
2) The program defaults to KPH, so if you save/export in MPH your units of measure are off. That is, numerically they are correct, but with KPH displayed. If you switch the speed box, it switches to MPH, but also down-converts the number.
3) Only certain .dsf files will work for laptiming. I tried to figure this out, but was stumped. I had an old saved .dsf file with splits in it, and it worked fine. But when I created a new .dsf file from the actual GPS data [with only start-finish saved (no splits)] I generated a "wrong CSV file format" error. I copied the split data only from the working file to the "new" file, and got a terminal error ["Run-time error '9': subscript out of range"] and the program terminated. 4) minor nit: the large digital display numbers are slightly cut off by the mp/h part of the display. Just the very last part of the right-most number. Cheers, and thanks for all the work on this awesome program!
Thank You for your support.
1,2 and 4: I will check and fix it.
3: Can You send me the csv and dsf files? Because i have not good values to try a better compatibility.
if you want send it to:

New version 1.0.14
Better GUI interface, displays and gauges now maintain correct zorder (bring to front) after save and loading, transparent displays now are fine if you move them.
Performance box and Race-Technology DL1 csv support, both lack of laps informations so with this data you have to manually draw the start/finish line on the track in order to have lap time displayed, follow the instruction in the program.
Excellent work! The new PerformanceBox start/finish works flawlessly! Bravo! Thanks for you hard work!
One note: the KPH to MPH conversion seems to be off now. When I export PerformanceBox data using Metric units and select MPH in RaceChrono2AVI, they display correctly in during playbck. But if I click the MPH button, they conversion is off. For example, 120KPH displays as 65MPH. And 160KPH displays as ~88MPH.
Again, thanks for the continuing efforts!
