Trackside workflow?

hi guys,

Loving RaceChrono- I'm using it with the MX+ ODB dongle + Racebox Mini.
Separately I record on Gopro11 Black, I have tried pairing it with Racechrono but I wasn't convinced it was using my Gopro labs settings so unpaired it.
This might be the root of my problems?

I'm looking for a good workflow that allows me to use Racechrono data overlaid on Gopro video in Circuit Tools on my PC but it feels like it takes so many steps, currently I can do this:

Connect Gopro to computer, save footage to my shared network directory
I can then access that shared network directory from my iPhone where I can download the footage to my iPhone device
Then I can import the video on Racechrono, and have to sync it (I usually struggle at this step, but can do it)
Then I export the whole thing as a vbo file from Racechrono and save back to my shared directory
Then I can import that to Circuit Tools.

This is really not fluid at all, and it hasn't occurred to me to attempt this at the track between sessions as it feels so cumbersome. Can anyone offer an improvement on this method? I am starting to think I need something I can analyse trackside, but not willing to accept the compromise on data with Garmin, or the lackluster video quality (or cost!!!) of Vbox/AiM

Many thanks in advance, especially to those who have anything to do with the development of this tool.

    Yup. Exactly the same here

I have a donor phone that is permanently mounted to my motorbike as a lap time computer which bluetooths to an external GNSS module and MX+. At the end of the last session I then export each session and upload it to the google drive.

I then import to my iPhone which already has all the GoPro footage that I have imported via the GoPro QUIK app in between each session. I then clobber together the video and OBD data together inside the RaceChrono Pro iOS App. I export each session by clicking into the top session, clicking 3 dots at the top, tapping export, tapping Show More, Adding the video channel, add to queue.

Then I tap back to Export Session, Back again, Back to sessions again. Then remembering that I have done the top session I re-do the same thing for the second to last session. Making sure I keep track of how many sessions I have done so there are no double ups. Same for third to last etc.. etc..

Once all done I go back, back, back and back again. Click three dots and then tap on Export Queue. I then count the number of in the queue. They should be the same number as sessions, I usually somehow miss one and double up on an other and then go back and forth playing find Woldo. I finally do. I tap on start

Once export completes I share each individual session and export via airdrop to my MacBook Pro. Tapping on the three dots and deleting every export as I go as to god forbid forget which one I exported and end up with a double up and/or missing an export

Once on my MacBook Pro I open each VBO file in a text editor. Copy and rename the video file and put them into a individual folder

The UI is dreadful and would constitute a crime against humanity in any court. A grand shame as a simple bulk export option would eliminate most of these issues

I have solved my issue by running RaceChrono Pro on my laptop, but that has been since blocked by the developer. Good luck. If there was an App that was technically better than RaceChrono I would jump ship immediately, but alas there is not
