Is the PGEAR P610 20Hz supported?

Hello everyone, I have seen in the app that the P600 is supported, but I would like to know if the P610 is also supported.

Also if anyone tested that gps module

Thanks!

I haven't tested P610 yet, so no guarantees, but I believe it is already supported with the P600 setting. I will confirm when I get the P610.
  • Ok thanks, also I have another question regarding any BT Gps, I already use a OBD2 BT module, it is possible to use both at the same time via Bluetooth? Also if it is possible, will it affect the update frecuency?

    Thanks!

  • P610 is not supported, I have tested
  • Yes, it looks like it does not work with the P600 setting. I will need to create separate setting for it, when I get the device.

Looks like I was misinformed about P610. It has encrypted output, and the manufacturer is trying to prevent 3rd party apps from supporting it. If the device becomes popular, it might be worth the effort to break the encryption (doesn't look too hard), but then again the manufacturer might change it in a firmware update. And I could also use my time doing something more productive.

So right now I do not have plans to support P610. Buy P600 or some other device instead.
  • Now that P600 has been discontinued, any plan on update and support P610?
I’m on the market for a GPS receiver and now most of supported ones seem to be out of production.

Please see the recommended list. All of them are still in production:

PGear P610 is not officially supported as the manufacturer did not want us to support it. It may (or may not) work with the P600 setting, but only as 10 Hz, as it being a true 20 Hz device is a lie. It's a 10 Hz GPS with some software tricks.
  • Any chance that in 2022 the P610 will join the supported GPS receivers?

I don't think so. Or at least this question should be directed to PGear who do not like 3rd party apps supporting their GPS. It's their strategy to keep their users on their own app.

So if you prefer RaceChrono over PGear's own app; don't buy PGear.

If you like RaceChrono, please see https://racechrono.com/article/faq/which-external-gps-should-i-buy or wait for the upcoming RaceBox Mini https://www.racebox.pro/mini/. I will start creating support for that once I get one. And this manufacturer is 3rd party app friendly. Disclaimer: I don't have one yet, so I cannot say how good it is, but specs look very good
