How to turn off screen while recording video?

My phone's screen uses a lot of power. I'd prefer to have the screen turn off in a minute or so while capturing video.

How do I do that with RC?

    Unfortunately Android operating system does not allow that. I recommend dimming the screen to minimum. That's the best alternative I think.

    Since you are able to overlay the blue lap time screen while video recording, maybe if you could allow a user to change that color to a pure black, it might help those with AMOLED screens?

    I will consider this for the renewed timer screen, that I will work on this summer.
